Initial Consultation

Having got in touch with us you will have an initial consultation to establish the broad needs of the student and their current situation. The student will then be placed with a specialist tutor most suited to their specific needs. A bespoke planning meeting will be arranged for the student (and parents) to meet their tutor.

Bespoke Planning Meeting

Students will have a free 15/20 minute bespoke planning meeting with their tutor. This is an opportunity for the pupil to get to know the tutor and vice versa. During this session the tutor will ask the pupil questions about their strengths and weaknesses, topics covered, learning style and goals. The tutor will then formulate a targeted learning plan in order to maximise the student’s potential.

Tutoring Sessions

Each 1:1 tutoring session is 50 minutes over zoom and is bespoke to the student. After each session the pupil will be provided notes and questions where appropriate. It is recommended that the pupil complete these questions and return them to their tutor at least 24 hours before the next session. This will allow the tutor to review the work and use it to inform the next session. The structure of the sessions is very much down to the student, the topic, and the time of year. For example, early on in their sessions a pupil may want a total review of a certain topic, whereas leading up to exams, the sessions may well consist of reviewing exam questions. If the student comes to their tutor with specific questions with which they are struggling, that can maximise the efficiency of sessions.

Terms, Conditions and Missed Sessions

All work will be emailed to parents/students depending on parental preference. If the work is sent direct to the pupil, then the parent/guardian will be cc:d on all communication.

We appreciate that young people’s lives are very busy and that organising one’s children alongside the pressures of modern life is not easy for parents. Therefore, there is no charge for sessions cancelled/rearranged more than 24 hours prior to their scheduled time. Sessions cancelled on the day will incur a 50% charge, with the exception of sessions cancelled due to illness, which will not be charged. If a student does not arrive at a session, the tutor will email the relevant contact (student/parent) c. 5 minutes after the session start time, to remind them that they have got tutoring. If the student does not arrive within 15 minutes of the registered start time then the zoom call will be closed and the session will be charged. If there are technical difficulties, then we would encourage students/parents to email the tutor so that they can adjust to the pupil. We will make every effort to ensure that all sessions can go ahead. Tutors/students may well be unavailable at certain times of the year due to holidays. The tutor will contact the parents within reasonable time, to make them aware that sessions will not take place during those dates; we ask that students do the same.

Parents/guardians will be sent a monthly invoice for services during that period, which is payable within 30 days. We understand and will exercise our statutory right to interest and compensation for debt recovery costs under the late payment legislation if not paid before the stated due period.
